Local DescriptionA VOLUME FAVOURITE! Review: Review: "Good friends and a how-to-manual on knitting warm hearts." -- Kirkus Reviews "It's a warm story with some amusing conversations, whimsical humour and charming colour illustrations." -- Agnew Reading "In this beautifully illustrated picture book, author and illustrator Ulrika Kestere has created a charming tale about friendship, travel and knitting." -- The Children's Book Council of Australia Author Biography: Ulrika Kestere is a photographer, illustrator and graphic designer based in Lund, Sweden. Her first children's book was translated into multiple languages, and this is her second book. Kestere was born in Latvia. She loves the outdoors and the rough Scandinavian weather, and Norway's Lofoten islands inspire many of her illustrations. DescriptionFar up in the north is a blueberry-blue house with a grass roof, where Lisa and Nils live. One day a tourist arrives: Otto has cycled for months, maybe years, to visit his friends. Otto wants to do a spectacular painting of the northern lights to remember his visit, but he is from a hot country and it is very cold here. He can’t paint for shivering so hard. Lisa and Nils are surprised—Otto has a fur coat just like them! They didn’t know there was a difference between fur and fur. His friends decide to knit him a jumper. |
